We will be deploying the V2.2 update starting on the week of November 6th, beginning with stores that where running 2.2 beta and continuing onto V2.1 stores. The process will take some time as we do not “mass update” every store in a server at once. We don’t want any issues during upgrades so stores are updated 1 at a time, and tested before moving on to the next. There are currently 75 servers on our network, so it’s going to take some time to get everyone updated. We appreciate your patience.

There will be no downtime during the upgrade as there is no need to restart the web server after the changes take effect.

If you would like to play around with the new version of the software in the mean time, we’ve setup a couple of demos here:

http://demo2.3dcartstores.com/
http://demo3.3dcartstores.com/

New features such as “Multiple ship to”, “Waiting list”, and “Advanced Search” have been added which means there are changes to existing html templates, as well as new templates on the software. We’ve configured the templates in a way that old templates will continue to work; however, these new features will not be visible. For example, if you use the search feature of your site and still see only product matches (no category or page matches), this means that you are using an old template. In short, your site will not break if you decide not to use the new features.

Feel free to contact our support team should you encounter any problems. Your data including templates is backed up every single day, and the last 30 versions of your files can be retrieved, so should anything go wrong during this upgrade, feel free to contact us to get a backup file!.

Using multiple price levels to create a wholesale group.
Price levels allow you to sell products at different prices based on the customer that is purchasing them. For example, you could create a price level group for “best customers” and when customers in that group log in, they can see their discounted pricing. The most common use for this feature is to setup a wholesale group which allows you to run both your retail and wholesale stores from within 1 store manager.
